Project Petroleum Engineer in Oil en Gas Industry Job Description

What are the main resposibilities of a Project Petroleum Engineer:

• As a Project Petroleum Engineer you develop a deep knowledge of the Belsim Solutions and you act as an expert and consultant to provide assistance to its use to internal and external clients.
• You manage and execute international projects from A to Z.
• You use the Belsim Software to model equipment, production flows, wells and production network, reconcile measurements and reconfigure sensors.
• You evaluate equipment and production performance.
• You will analyze results for recommendation, troubleshoot, monitor - and provide support for the Belsim Application. Application examples: optimization and enhancement of field production, Virtual Flow Metering systems for subsea installations, back allocation of production well tests, MPFM recalibration, faulty gauge detection and recalibration.)
• You efficiently manage resources and budgets to achieve projects objectives.
• As a Project Petroleum Engineer you ensure a close follow up of your accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and continuation of business.
• You are the focal point for contact with customers, working with the sales team to capture new business
• You support Sales Engineers by providing solution design meeting customer needs.
• You prepare studies and specifications to develop, implement and update Belsim Applications.
• You are involved in training of internal and external resources and partners.
• Finally as a Project Petroleum Engineer you contribute to the software development through technical specifications and customer feedback.

Project Petroleum Engineer in Oil en Gas Industry Job Requirements

What does Belsim require of a Project Petroleum Engineer:

• You have a Master Degree in Process, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering.
• A minimum experience of 5 years as a Process or Production Engineer is required.
• You have extensive technical experience in the area of process or petroleum engineering from a large number of projects.
• You demonstrate inter-personal, project management and team leading skills.
• You have a highly professional work experience with multinational companies and you have worked at least two years in a project work environment, managing projects and customer relationships.
• You will possess the ability to build relationships throughout the business, utilizing excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• As a Project Petroleum Engineer you have deep understanding of industry needs and challenges and are able to articulate solutions to meet specific customer demands.
• You have sound knowledge of PFD’s and PID’s and have experience in modeling and simulation of oil and gas processes.
• You demonstrate strong domain knowledge of oil and gas processing and/or refining and petrochemicals.
• You speak English fluently. Other languages are a plus (French, Arabic, Russian, Portuguese)
• You can describe yourself as a reliable and rigorous person with excellent problem solving skills and strong knowledge of standard principles, theories and concepts.
• You are legally authorized to work in Belgium.
• The position is based in Belgium and frequent travels have to be expected.
