Department
Our client is a key technology innovator in the high-tech industry, working on projects with significant international impact and unique facilities. Within the department Optomechatronics, focus is on the development of mechatronics equipment for optical applications that require extreme stability and accurate motion in harsh environments. Important competences are precision mechanics, mechatronics and high performance control. Currently one of our main innovations is the development of nanomechanics based architectures.
 
Job Description
This position entails research and engineering on micro/nanomechanical devices, instruments and equipment such as micromechanical sensors and actuators, equipment based on near field techniques, micro/nanodevices interface with optics/nanophotonics. The focus will be on the mechanics, interactions with magnetic, electric and optical fields and applications in building mechatronics equipment. The main applications are in nanoscale manufacturing, inspection and metrology.
 
In your role as a system architect nano-mechanics your expertise will include several aspects:

  • Deliver multidisciplinary solutions for high tech problems of our customers. The solutions are based on the application of nanotechnology, in combination with novel physics and mechatronics.
  • Developing market solutions by creating possibilities and ideas for our clients to innovate their equipment or to increase their production yield.
  • Give direction to complex research projects with multidisciplinary influences and address research issues in close collaboration with academic organizations.

Your competences
We look for a System Architect with a PhD degree in Micro and Nanotechnology and a background in Mechanical Engineering or Physics and at least 5 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of nano-instruments such as SPM, SEM and optical systems is considered advantageous as well as familiarity with micro- and nanocharacterization and microfabrication technology.
