LED Production Engineer (MSc or BSc with experience)
Job Description
The product engineer will be a key member of the development team that designs and develops LED systems and components for commercial use in signage and architectural projects. In addition to individual engineering tasks he/ she will work with customers and vendors developing state-of-the art lighting systems. Success will be measured by the timely completion of ready-for-market product designs to be distributed internationally. Design focus will be on new products that round out the LED lighting offering.
Responsibilities
Successfully design LED lighting systems from concept to production, provide technical guidance for product road map, complete TUV, cUL, CE certifications, mechanical and optical testing, mechanical CAD, create new innovative and practical product designs in accordance with company specifications and design standards, evaluate and develop design improvements and cost reductions for existing products, analyze engineering problems and recommend solutions, perform and check engineering calculations to verify product design, execute detailed component design, including tolerance evaluation, material and surface treatment selection, create, monitor and evaluate test programs to verify/validate product performance, create, check, and maintain appropriate engineering documentation in support of a product design, in accordance with company procedures, provide the sales, operations, and marketing groups with technical assistance.
Skills/Experience
Minimum seven years of electrical/mechanical development engineering, BSc in Engineering, excellent communication skills in English, ability to work in a team environment, demonstrated ability to independently design mechanical components based on a keen understanding of material properties, manufacturing processes, machining and assembly fit tolerances as well as kinematic and stress analysis, demonstrated proficiency in the use of MS Office, no restrictions to travel, proven leadership and decision making abilities, familiar with electrical system design, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
