Manager Design, Engineering and Innovation Job Description

CPM Human Resource Management(HRM) is currently looking for a Manager Design, Engineering and Innovation for the Power Distribution Systems(PDS) Division at Rogers Corporation in Ghent, Belgium.

Rogers (based in Ghent) is the world’s technology leader in innovative solutions for Power Distribution Systems.Rogers Power Distribution Systems division has been providing innovative busbar solutions and collaborative engineering services since 1969. Laminated busbars are three dimensional constructions enabling electrical distribution of current in power electronic modules. They are utilized in traction propulsion systems for rail applications, wind and solar inverters, industrial frequency inverters, large UPS systems or power supplies and other applications requiring the distribution of electrical power.


The main responsibilities of the Manager Design, Engineering and Innovation are:

• Provides leadership to:
  • the Application Engineers engaged in the Design of new products and solutions.
  • the Innovation Manager in the development of solutions within the scope of the RO-LINX Megatrend segments,  aligned with the marketing input and trends.
• Prepares and controls departmental annual budget.
• Develops and maintains a creative vision and strategy for innovative solutions in line with the Strategic Growth Plan.
• Driving force to overcome technical barriers and to improve enabling technologies to create the highest value solutions and stay ahead of the competition.
• Owner of the Global Design Engineering Process, RWW( Real Win Worth it project filter) and cost calculation models.
• Monthly follow up on the performance on hit rate and response time agility in collaboration with the Global Product Manager.
• Teams up regularly with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and Plant Manager to continuously improve transfers into Operations.
• Recommends new or improved policies or procedures as necessary and according to the guidelines of the ruling quality, environmental and other system needs.

What does CPM HRM require from the candidate:

• You have a technical background (Civil Engineer/Industrial Engineer)
• He/she needs to be business minded, entrepreneurship is very important.
• Strong communication and organisation skills are vital, and the ability to take the initiative by leading and influencing change is equally essential.
• You are based in Belgium – Ghent area. 
• Language skills: Dutch + fluency in spoken English
