Quality Engineer Job Description

The role of Quality Engineer:
- Works with production planning and material supply functions to ensure all materials are inspected and available to support production requirements.
- Liaises with customers and suppliers on resolving product or quality system failures.
- Liaises with inspection bodies for the implementation of Source and First Article Inspections.
Quality Engineer Job Requirements

Specifically the role of Quality Engineer is responsible for the Development and execution of quality plans for the following program elements: - Overall Program Management
- Engineering Process (Configuration Management)
- Validation and Verification
- Test Aircraft Unit Builds
- Production Process Implementation
- Production Process Sign-Off
- Supplier Development
- Approved Operator Training
- Quality Technician and Goods In Inspector Training
- Proactively integrate all quality requirements into the program lifecycle to ensure that the product will have no warranty issues
- Ensure that the program operates and is executed within the company procedures and in line with regulatory body requirements
- Manage the implementation of both new and updated procedures into the program environment ensuring no adverse effects on program execution
- Support business processes and personnel in continuous improvement activities
- Manage, implement and control customer, internal and supplier product and process audits with the focus on conformance and driving continuous improvement
- Provide the primary interface to the customer for all quality related requirements
- Develop, implement and maintain quality documentation and metrics including process maps, procedures, standards, process and product specifications.
- Support the New Product Introduction process through quality planning and implementation, liaising with customers, internal functions and suppliers
- Support supplier selection through audit process
- Support, develop and implement supplier quality assurance and control processes
- Development of POA and DOA links with Customers, manufacturing sites, and development suppliers
The Quality Engineer will have a HNC in a quality or engineering discipline, and experience of the following: - A strong quality and continuous improvement background gained within medium to high volume manufacturing ideally operating within a POA and DOA environment
- The candidate will be familiar with auditing procedures
- Strong working knowledge and understanding of Quality and or Aerospace Standards ( ISO 9000, AS9100, EASA Part 21, EASA Part 145)
- Problem Solving Skills with in an engineering environment - preferably 8D
- Continuous Improvement and 5S Mindset
- Able to read, understand and interpret engineering information
- Effective communicator at all levels both verbal and written
- Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Ability to operate effectively within a matrix organisation structure
- IT literate - Effective use of Microsoft Office software; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access
