Researcher fluid dynamics for 3D printing (PhD or MSc)
Job Description
You are involved in the development of new additive manufacturing technologies for mainly high-tech systems and food printing applications. Being part of multidisciplinary project teams, you work independently on projects tasks but at the same time share findings and interpretations with the other team members. You develop innovative manufacturing processes and accompanying high-precision machine concepts for deposition and patterning of functional materials. This layer-wise deposition/patterning is regarded as the holy grail for a wide range of applications such as integrated and flexible electronics, personalized medicines and foods, solar cells and OLED lighting. Working on a broad technological base, the group defines product and process requirements, translates these requirements into innovative machine concepts, develops prototypes in collaboration with academic and industrial partners and transfers the developed technologies to our industrial partners.
Education
MSc or PhD Physics or related with specialization in transport phenomena and fluid dynamics.
Personal skills
Team player with excellent communication and writing skills in English. Customer focus, both analytical and practical skills, flexible attitude and commitment are key for this role. Strong analytical ability with a pragmatic attitude, perfect communicational skills and good knowledge of English, able to display a “helicopter”-view, meticulous, perseverance, pro active, creative, can manage multiple projects at the same time, very good ability to handle stress and dealing with deadlines, flexible.
