Within the Grodan Group we are looking for an experienced 

R&D Manager

As R&D Manager you manage and optimize the innovation and application development. You are responsible for the realization of an efficient and effective R&D department, resulting in a well filled pipeline of new Products, Tools & Services, which are foreseen from direct applicable user advice – ready for market launches.

You will be reporting to the Director Marketing & Development.

The main responsibilities for you in this challenging position are: 
• Managing the R&D Group (called A&D within Grodan) – deliver the agreed A&D output;
• Responsible for the innovation agenda and managing the innovation process, with a strong market driven focus;
• Manage the innovation pipeline for new Products, Tools & Services;
• Secure user advice for all products, before market launch;
• Secure internal as well as external training for all new products to be launched;
• Develop service concepts and take ownership for it;
• Establish an internal and external network to capture new technologies, thoughts, processes contribution to the innovation program;
• Derived from the Strategic Plan, develop the annual innovation path with a 5 year horizon;
• Responsible for monitoring direct and indirect competition regarding innovation developments Continuously benchmark if we stay ahead of competition and take pro-active actions when needed.

R&D Manager Job Requirements

To successfully fulfill this position you have:
• A Master level degree or equal knowledge gained through work experience, in applied R&D with knowledge of chemical / physical processes;
• Managerial experience within a commercial driven R&D environment;
• A proven ability in (international-) people management, and team building;
• Maintains and develops relations with internal and external contacts;
• A strategical and conceptual thinker. You have the ability to translate concept into practice – result driven;
• Proven to be successful in managing complex international teams and projects;
• Affinity with Sales and SC activities;
• Decisive, result oriented and innovative;
• Excellent communications skills. Fluent in English, both verbally and written.
