Field Applications Engineer Job Description

As Field Applications Engineer you play a key role in achieving the company’s vision, strategy and targets.
You identify and acquire new business, maintain customer relationships, communicate and fulfill the role of knowledge supplier to the customer regarding IP products, solutions and design services.

As Field Applications Engineer you have or will acquire a wide and deep knowledge of Barco Silex products, customer needs and requirements in defined segments and products.
You will fulfill your role within a wide internal and external network, in which you actively work in different teams according to the company’s processes and policies.

As Field Applications Engineer you will develop and maintain high levels of commercial, professional and personal skills and strive for continuous improvement.
You will handle pre-sales technical discussions of sales leads in order to define if the technical customer requirements can be achieved by using Barco Silex products.
As Field Applications Engineer you will provide technical customer support and coordinate with the Barco Silex technical team.
You establish business and high level customer relations.
You maintain customer relations via phone or e-mail, and organize customer visits on a regular basis, in order to assess product and service satisfaction, and to find ideas for product improvements.
You participate in the establishment of the business model.

As Field Applications Engineer you work closely together with product management, engineering and sales teams to define new systems and solutions that meet customer needs.
You set up international exhibitions in various countries such as the USA and Japan.

Field Applications Engineer Job Requirements

The position of Field Applications Engineer requires a Masters or Bachelors degree with technical and sales experience in the field of electronic engineering.

• You have experience with FPGA technology and or VHDL design.
• You preferably have a few years of electronic design experience as well as some knowledge of and experience in network infrastructure and protocols, digital video processing, video streaming via IP or cryptograph.
• As Field Applications Engineer you have very good communication skills.
• You are a team player.
• You are very fluent in English and knowledge of Dutch and or French is preferred.
• Strong IT skills are necessary.
• People and business skills are very important for internal as well as external contacts.
• As Field Applications Engineer you are willing to travel 10-15 % of your time.
