DSP Electronics Engineer – Cambridge Job Description

The Electronics Engineering Team develop a range of systems from high voltage analogue drivers, integration of ISM band RF modules, to high speed controllers for instrumentation, measurement and control systems.  The team is responsible for developing electronics systems for Elektron’s instrumentation and monitoring/control products, and we are looking to recruit an innovative, adaptable and talented DSP Electronics Engineer with excellent organisational and communication skills, both written and spoken.  The DSP Electronics Engineer will develop and maintain control systems for instruments which include digital processor circuitry and communications interfaces.

This role will encompass architecture, providing specifications and conducting simulations on control loop and signal processing solutions for embedded systems and analogue control systems. As a team player with strong organisation skills you will work in a multidisciplinary team to deliver robust system solutions and products ready for manufacture as well as co-ordinating various stakeholders into a unified approach.

We are looking for a self motivated and driven Engineer with commercial / industrial design experience of control systems with knowledge and experience in schematic design, circuit simulation / analysis, DSP control system design and DSP signal processing design. You will be familiar with hardware / software design trade-offs and have the ability to produce technical documentation to support all activities, from requirements documentation to final assembly instructions. Ideally you will hold A BSc / MSc in Electronics or equivalent.

You must be flexible in your approach to your work as tasks will vary and there will be an expectation of some regular UK travel with occasional foreign travel.
