Role Summary/Purpose

The Mechanical Engineer demonstrates deep technical understanding, is analytical, communicative and focused on results. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to affect short- and long term business goals.

Essential Responsibilities

• Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements 
• Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures 
• Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments 
• Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues 
• Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews 
• Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Qualifications/Requirements

• Master or Bachelor of Science in Engineering, specialized within solid mechanics and structural dynamics.

• Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems 
• Solid oral and written communication skills 
• Strong interpersonal skills 
• Deep desire to learn and develop 
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of linear and non-linear finite element analysis (FEA) for mechanical and structural systems, including experience of ANSYS Workbench (or similar). 
• Knowledge of Excel and Matchcad 
• Basic programming skills 
• Strong grasp of metallic and plastic materials 
• Basic knowledge of Solid modelling with ProEngineer or other similar 3D product design CAD systems 
• Understanding of analysis of different joint techniques, e.g. bolts, welds and similar
