Your challenge
Philips challenges you to use your engineering expertise to model, design and implement some of the world’s most demanding motion control and precision positioning systems for industries such as semiconductor manufacturing and medical imaging. Your contributions can range from early customer contacts and project definitions to the ramp-up and sustaining of volume production.
Your responsibilities

You work comfortably in multi-disciplinary teams of highly skilled technical experts from both Philips Innovation Services and its customers and will cooperate with other parties such as technology providers and suppliers to find solutions that solve the technical and business challenges of your customers
In major projects you will lead a team of designers and report to the project manager. In smaller projects you are responsible for the complete project and will work solely or with a small team.
Contributing to build the electrical engineering competence in the mechatronics program by an attitude of active learning and outward looking
Building an effective competence network with customers, industry partners, universities and suppliers. You actively look around to acquire new insights, to strengthen the knowledge base and competence of the department and yourself in the domains of high precision equipment
Supporting the commercial department in acquiring new projects and defining project plans. You actively contribute to the definition of project objectives and scope and to the preparation of smart project plans. If requested you will lead small to medium sized projects or parts of bigger projects, and you convincingly present the results of your work to customers.

The Mechatronics department of Philips Innovation Services, with approximately 200 employees, is unique in its system design approach which has lead to many practical solutions for our customers. Think of breakthrough solutions in smooth motion, high accuracy positioning, and mechanical construction in e.g. lithography systems and magnetic levitation stages. We are active in equipment as well as sub-system design, prototyping and testing. Next to that a lot of our mechatronics solutions are applied in consumer products and healthcare systems. You will be working in multi-disciplinary teams of highly skilled technical experts from both Philips Innovation Services and its customers.
High Precision Systems within Mechatronics is a department of over 60 specialists in several technology fields. As a Senior Electrical Designer you will lead a team of (junior) designers who are involved in the projects. You report directly to the Department Head of the High Precision Systems and directly to the (Senior) Project Manager.
