Your challenge
The Senior Engineer Measurement/Inspection/Testing initiates and works on optimal measurement, inspection and test plans for the quality control of integrated thin film applications, products and processes with the purpose of delivering samples and products, which completely meet the customer requirements.
Your responsibilities
The Senior Process Engineer Measurement/Inspection/Testing:
· Has ownership of (almost) all measurement, inspection and test equipment in the cleanrooms, meaning maintaining the equipment and measurement procedures at a good and stable level.
· Is responsible for the calibration of all measurement, inspection and test equipment in the cleanrooms.
· Translates the customer specification and requirements into an optimal measurement, inspection and test plan (including specification of tools and criteria) in order to verify the required product quality.
· Uses appropriate methods and tools for engineering activities.
· Analyses test results, analyses the cause of errors, and gives feedback to development and process engineers and writes test reports.
· Is responsible for application and development of (new) measurement, inspection and test tools and procedures (software and hardware) for process development and production.
· Assists customers in consulting them for measurement, inspection and testing choices.
· Sees opportunities for improvements and initiates these opportunities, within his own technological expertise/competency.
· Judges the possibilities of re-using existing knowledge and the needs for new developments in the field of measurement, inspection and testing
· Continuously develops his technological knowledge, by regularly contacts in – and outside the department and also outside Philips Innovation Services and also with representatives from suppliers and knowledge institutes.
· Participates in multi-disciplinary teams for purchasing new equipment in the field of measurement, inspection and testing equipment; contributes by designing the requirements/ specifications and acceptance protocols.
· Pro-actively communicates with all stakeholders, including clients, senior management, professional network and colleagues.
· Complies with the ESH policy, rules and regulations.
Your team
You’ll be part of a highly motivated and skilled team of (Senior) Process Engineers and Technicians, who have decades of experience in supporting customers both inside and outside Philips, ranging from major companies and institutes like ASML, NXP, Holst to highly innovative start-ups.
The Thin Film facilities Process Engineering group is part of the department Philips Innovation Services Technology Laboratories and consists of about 25 experts (LBO/MBO/HBO).
The TFF Process Engineering group focusses on the continuous improvement of the existing and new technologies, processes and equipment used for the realization of integral (flowchart) solutions and low volume production in the application fields of MEMS, NEMS, OLED, flexible devices, sensors, actuators, switches, harvesters for lighting, medical and semiconductor applications. As such you will closely be working with the TL Process Research & Development group.
· A Master or Bachelor degree in the area of the exact sciences.
· Experience in process engineering & development.
· Experience in working with or leading project teams technological area.
· In-depth knowledge of measurement, inspection and testing methods and equipment used for thin film samples and products.
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills, both technical as interpersonal.
· Capable of combining his physical and chemical knowledge in order to understand the complex thin film processes and their interaction with performance and yield and thus measurement, inspection and testing.
· Knowledge of fundamental tools (DOE, SPC, Problem Solving, Teamwork, etc.), required in an engineering environment.
· Good communication skills.
· Has a pragmatic, creative, flexible attitude with a result driven, can-do mentality.
