IT Workplace Architect

The Workplace Architect position is based on evaluating and defining strategies, roadmaps and implementation of new client computing based services and solutions. Lead the development of mid and long-term strategic goals for the IT Workplace and client systems/software.
Job Description
Roadmap
• Defining client services future roadmaps and strategies around a wide range of technologies and capabilities.
• Participate in evolving and influencing industry trends, technologies and directions.
• Evaluating future technologies against business requirements, strategies and map them to IT capabilities
• Ensuring compliance of architecture principles, policies and standards.
Execution of roadmap/workplace projects
• Take the lead in the execution of IT workplace related projects, responsible for implementing the new technologies, hands on support when required
Stakeholder management
• Timely and clear communication, share information and knowledge
• Share responsibility and make use of expertise of others
• Focus on targets and evaluate
• Clear role and responsibility
• Align domain architecture with backend infra architecture.
Education
Academic level or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
• At least 7 years of experience as an architect on senior level and 10+ years of experience in other business and IT roles.
• Very experienced in delivering architectural principles, processes, infrastructure and solutions.
• Strong industry experience with MCSE, or other systems engineering certification
• A strong background in several of the following at an architectural level:
1. Server (Windows server, Unix, SQL)
2. Desktop ( Windows OS, Active Directory, Sofware/Package deployment)
3. Desktop virtualization (VMWare, Citrix)
4. Device management experience (SCCM)
5. Desktop application knowledge (MS Office 2003,2007 and 2010)
6. Workplace security
7. Business continuity (Clustering, Load balancing, failover)
8. Service management tools and operational support tools
9. Experience with Mobile Smartphone platforms
Personal skills
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Good team player with strong leadership skills.
• Passionate about driving new technology solutions.
• Strong documentation skills with the ability to write positional papers, white papers, policies, best practices and strategy documents.
• Good customer focus and customer facing skills.
Context of the position
The IT workplace architect is working within the IT ops & infra department reporting to the Sr. Manager Workplace & Telco services. The IT workplace architect is closely working together with both ASML IT and business stakeholders.
