Job Description

• Work as a member of the Integration Engineering team of on engagements with customers in a technical role to enable the SP community and provide detailed documentation of delivery of production ready solutions.
• Develop customer solutions based on current hands-on knowledge of the VMware product line, storage, networking, management, and associated customer business processes. Specific emphasis on Cloud management related solutions as well as: vSphere, vCloud Director, vCenter Operations Management Suite, ITBM, and AppDirector.
• Work as a member of a technical team on engagements with customers, often in a technical leadership role to enable the SP community and provide detailed architecture of delivered solutions.
• Ability to travel periodically and spend significant time interacting with customers remotely on solutions engagements.
• Translate detailed technical requirements and specifications to deliver fully implemented solutions for customers.
• Provide engineering guidance into integration of VMware management products with third party products within the customer?s IT environment: storage, networking, systems management, capacity management and monitoring, high availability solutions, security infrastructures, etc.

• Participate in the pre-sales process to understand customer business and technical objectives and product requirements, in order to develop effective solutions and be able to deploy the solution in post-sales deployment.
• Adept at supporting various enablement and partner interactions.
• Provide development resource capacity for standard reusable VMware ?productized? solution offerings based on the solutions, including definition of tasks, deliverables and standard estimates
• Document best practices in developing and deploying VMware management solutions, and feed them into our knowledge base for reuse by customers and partners
• Build and maintain the confidence of colleagues, managers, and customers
• Partner with Product Development for progressive integration solutions to requirements.
• Engineering support of the solution cycle (identification, presentations, PoCs, pilot projects, solution design, service positioning, ?)
• Participate in Integration Engineering teams to provide deliverables including:
• Code payload
• Installation packaging /Runtime management
• Documentation / Best Practices
• Release Management
• Demonstration / Showcase
• Presentation and Marketing

Solutions and Integrations Architect Job Requirements

The Integration Engineering Architect works in partnership with Integration Architects to support Customers and Partner organizations, Field Sales & Delivery, and Product Development to incubate and field enable the next generation of management technical architecture solutions and services. The role will include being the engineering resource to assist Architects in field partnership for R&D to incubate, documentation, working closely with early adopter clients as well as initial sales & delivery to customers of advanced architectures and services; and finally continuous knowledge exchange between all key stakeholders in VMware and Partner Communities. Finally, you will document engineering best practices in deploying these VMware solutions, and feed them into our knowledge base for best practices by customers and partners
