Role Summary/Purpose:
The open position is within the Manifold & Connection Systems' (MCS) - organization part of Subsea Systems team located in the Poland.
The Project Lead Engineer is a position that will have responsibility for the Engineering deliverables and Technical Compliance for a defined part of the overall MCS scope in an EPC Project or Product Delivery Project. A high degree of importance is placed on the aspects of Management and co-ordination of engineering activities necessary to complete the scope.
Essential Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities for the predefined scope and work package that include:
- Developing the Engineering schedule relevant to his / her scope
- Responsible for the execution and delivery of the scope / package according to the Engineering plan and budget.
- Resources management; manage assigned resources and flag any needs
- Ensuring all project specific engineering procedures in the Project are communicated and rolled out
- Defining Project specific procedures to meet contractual requirements
- Ensuring that the Technical Assurance activities are defined and planned for as per Contract
- Responsible for providing input to scheduled reports
- Manage technical risks based on risk register supplied by Systems and MCS Engineering Manager
- Provide input to the Interface Register on MCS Internal & External Interfaces
- Responsible for giving input to the Engineering Change Control system and ensuring compliance within Engineering.
- Ensuring Technical Compliance of the equipment to relevant Laws, Rules, Regulations, Codes & standards.
- Engineering representative covering his/hers work package and scope towards MCS project, EPC and the Client
- Identify customer’s requirement and implement effective solutions
- Attend customer meetings and EPC meetings
- Lead project design activities and technical decisions
- Ensure the proper understanding of technical customer needs inside his / her Engineering project team
- Assist in identifying test requirements for EFATs and SIT
- Ensure the project engineering team is working well and enhance team spirit and loyalty.
Qualifications/Requirements:
The position will normally require someone with 5-10 years’ experience in subsea, of which at least 2-5 years have been in technical management. You will preferably have held a similar position of Lead Engineer, Engineering Manager or similar, or in one of the related disciplines for subsea.
A degree of travel, both locally and internationally will be required.
- Managerial skills: Ability to lead a team and manage technical personnel across disciplines. Experienced in Project start up, execution and close out of small to large scale subsea projects. Strong problem solving abilities. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Strong organizational skills. Prior experience in delivery of subsea systems.
- Technical Skills: Strong systems and interface engineering skills based upon previous experience within Subsea Projects. It is required that the person has detailed understanding of subsea product design basis / verification methods / Qualification technology and general product knowledge gained through significant number of years of industrial experience. The skills will include capabilities to participate in Risk Assessment, HAZOP and Interface Engineering within the boundaries of product standards. It is also required that the person has knowledge and understanding of other related systems engineering skills such as Factory Acceptance Procedures, EFAT, SIT and manufacturing / fabrication as well as Safety and Environmental Controls and a working knowledge of Quality standards, particularly ISO
9001.
- Oral and Written Communications: Excellent presentation and written skills to enable clear and concise delivery of information to staff, customers, contractors and supervisors. Ability to demonstrate and argue the technical case for or against products/ systems as necessary to minimize technical and commercial risk within the company’s strategic objectives, Fluent English, spoken and written.
- Action & Results Orientation: Demonstrate a readiness to make decisions, take the initiative and originate action. He/she should also have a clear understanding of his/her objectives relative to the project requirements and to facilitate delivery of those objectives as planned.
- Team Work: Demonstrate good team working abilities and to arrange and manage events which involve various teams, including staff reporting directly. Provide leadership and manage interfaces as required to deliver objectives.
- Customer Focus: Maintain customer focus, both internal and external. Good customer relationships are to be maintained to help generate a sense of belonging for internal customers and project the company as being customer sensitive for external customers.
- Planning & Organisation: Prior experience in system delivery of subsea systems. Ability to organise and schedule events, activities and resources. Set up and monitor costs and timelines particularly related to critical path activities and third parties. Must be accountable for performance.
- Commercial Awareness: Good commercial skills. Good understanding of contractual requirements. Understands and applies commercial and financial principles. Views issues in terms of costs, profits, and added value
- Computer literacy: formal qualification not necessary, but able to demonstrate proficiency in office systems.
