The R&D department

Vital Scientific develops instruments for clinical laboratories and is part of the ELITech Group (www.elitechgroup.com ). Development includes the specification and design of processes to be executed, the instrument and the software.

Vital has started the development of a totally new generation of instruments (called Columbus EL250) for which new software must be developed. This software is developed for the major part in C #.

Vital wants to distinguish itself with state of the art software, in order to optimally support the user. To this end it seeks to strengthen the core software team, which eventually will act as a center of excellence for software development within the ELITech Group.

In the software development we work together with development partners, but it is expected that the above development still requires a very strong self-effort (co-development). Therefore the software group will be expanded with two Net developers (Junior and Senior).

Duties and responsibilities:

• To design, implement and test software under guidance of the Software System Architect;
• Executing software verifications, validations and problem analysis;
• Reporting (in English) of test results according to the applicable quality system;
• To provide advice for improving the systems;
• Maintain and improve the software of the existing systems based on Problem Reports and Engineering Change requests;
• Development and improvement of internal tooling like simulators and test tools in C #.

• Preferably graduate level, Computer Science and Engineering or Technical Computer Science;
• Demonstrated experience in the field of software development, preferably in the area of instrumentation (2-5 years);
• Strong knowledge of the programming language ​​C #;
• Experience with XAML-based UI or affinity with real-time aspects and the programming language C / C++;
• Preferably knowledge of design methodologies such as OO and UML;
• Preferably experience with medical software development according to IEC 62304;
• Preferably experience with TDD / Agile development approach;
• Analytical thinking;
• Accurate and proactive;
• Stress resistant;
• Ability to work independent, but also in teams;
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written;
• Excellent command of English and Dutch spoken and written (French is an advantage);
• A minimum of 36 hours availability per week.
