Job Description:

For our GaN power technology development activities we are currently looking for a highly motivated diploma / master student. 

In general your main duty will be the characterization of dynamic properties of GaN HEMTs and the investigation of key influence factors. 

After a basic introduction on GaN technology aspects and training on the measurement equipment this diploma / master thesis will comprise the following tasks: 

• DC characterization of normally-on GaN samples with different geometries and field plate configurations
• AC characterization and extraction of figures of merit
• Current collapse characterization, including the correlation to key technology and device parameters such as GaN epitaxy properties and field plate configurations
• Investigation of correlation effects between electrical break down properties and current collapse mechanisms
• Earliest starting date: March 2013 (by arrangement)
• Work time: fulltime (38,5 hours per week)

Candidate Profile:

This job is suitable for students with special emphasis in electrical engineering, physics or similar studies. 

As our ideal candidate you offer in addition: 

• Good knowledge of measurement technics and GaN devices
• Systematic problem solving capability and strong analytical thinking
• Self driven engagement to fulfill the tasks
• Ability to work in teams and good communication skills
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
