Amgen are building a new Biotech product formulation, syringe filling and syringe/vial packaging facility in Dún Laoghaire, Dublin.
The candidate will act as the technical automation lead for the new facility packaging lines and support these packaging lines post implementation.
The individual will build consensus between the individual requirements of facility management, Corporate Engineering, OIS and corporate standard architectures to design the project specific automation architecture. The individual will provide day to day technical leadership to the project team in all project phases (design, delivery, startup, commissioning, validation and operational support). The individual will support the project manager to ensure the project budget, schedule and staffing is commensurate to enable the automation systems to attain the performance standards required to support the business objectives. Travel at various times is anticipated to support execution of projects.
Candidates should demonstrate project engineering skills, including but not limited to the following: client interfacing and resolution of client concerns, developing and reporting project results, technical guidance of a project from concept to delivery, detailed project planning, system commissioning and validation, technical solution evaluation.
In addition to leadership capabilities, candidates must have a working knowledge of the GAMP software development lifecycle, ANSI/ISA-S88 and S95 industry standards and will direct efforts of automation contractors in the successful execution of efforts by using appropriate development methodologies to establish an Automation and MES implementation that meets Operations'' business requirements.
Candidates will have experience on Packaging Line automation systems in cGMP regulated environments and will be knowledgeable regarding FDA cGxP and 21 CFR Part 11 regulations and understand software system validation.
Specialized experience in packaging control and vision/inspection systems with PLCs, PACs and motion control is required. Experience in Allen Bradley, Siemens, ELAU, B&R, Jetter, Lenze, Cognex and Systech would be a distinct advantage. Experience with OPC, SQL Databases and Data Historians e.g. OSIsoft PI data historian, MES and BMS is desired. Experience in other areas of Information Systems supporting manufacturing business unit is a plus.
