Due to continued growth within our Component Testing and Manufacturing Department we have a current opening for a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our thriving team.  Reporting directly to the Department Manager you will undertake a technical role in the delivery of Full Scale Component Testing and Manufacture, including: technical input, financial and project management activities that meet and exceed customer expectations.
 
Key responsibilities of the role are:

• Preparation of the Component Test and Manufacturing Departments commercial tenders including technical solutions, commercial costs and risks, project work scope planning and first point of contact for client queries, in accordance with the requirements defined within a client RFQ.
• Liaison with the Department’s Group Leaders and Technical Specialists when preparing commercial tenders to ensure that all technical and commercial risks are captured and mitigated at the quotation stage.
• First point of contact for prospective clients ensuring that all technical and project requirements of a client RFQ are suitably managed and addressed within our bid documentation.
• Negotiation of contractual details prior to securing work scope.
• Technical and commercial handover of secured work scope to project Principal Investigator on client order placement.
• Assisting the Department Manager in identifying and pursuing new opportunities for the Department’s growth.
• Providing technical guidance to junior members of our engineering group.

Project Engineer 1 Job Requirements

Ideally you will be educated to degree level in an appropriate engineering discipline with a proven background in commercial tendering with the ability to interpret client requests for quotation and managing the tendering process through to bid submission. You will have sound knowledge of Mechanical Engineering principles coupled with a strong commercial acumen.
