Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Engineer

For several of our clients in the European Aerospace industry, we are looking for experienced Fatigue and Damage Tolerance engineers.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Dependant on client and location the tasks and responsibilities may vary, but will a.o.t. be:
- Carrying out fatigue and damage tolerance calculations to assess design solutions for a range of tasks;
- Crack growth analysis;
- Stress corrosion cracking;
- Fatigue simulations;
- Utilization of numerical methods and finite element tools;
- Classification of materials according to their environment, production and processing.

Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Engineer Job Requirements
Experience and Education
- A University Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or other relevant discipline;
- A minimum of 5 years in experience in Fatigue & Fracture Mechanics analysis, FE-Analysis of Aircraft structures with Nastran and classical hand calculations of Metal and Composite structures;
- Relevant knowledge of Fatigue & Crack Growth software;
- Relevant knowledge of tools needed – NASTRAN/PATRAN (or FEMAP or IDEAS);
- Good insight in load-paths and failure modes of structures under fatigue loads;
- Good communication skills and fluency in spoken and written English (German & Dutch also preferred);
- Flexible, well organised and team player;
- Willingness to travel.
