Plasma Etch R&D Engineer
Job description
You will be a member of the ETCH group, who is responsible for developing the plasma etch processes requested by the process integration departments running imec's CORE and CMORE programs.
After receiving an intensive on-the-job training you will be responsible for analyzing and discussing the plasma etch process requests with the integration engineers. Based on this you will design and execute the experimental plan in the cleanroom, and analyze and interpret the experimental results. You are expected to deliver high quality etch processes, including process window characterization, to assure process reproducibility. Finally you will document and transfer the etch processes to the imec pilot production line, and provide training to the process support engineers. The process development progress will need to be reported internally at etch team meetings, and in meetings with the customer.
We offer
We offer you a challenging position in an advanced high-tech environment, in an international team. This is your opportunity to contribute to technologies that will have an impact on tomorrow's society.
We offer you an attractive salary added with competitive extra-legal benefits such as an interesting life insurance, hospitalization insurance, and a long term disability insurance. Imec takes on the full cost of these insurances. On top of that you receive meal vouchers for each working day. Furthermore, imec offers various training possibilities and social services such as a company restaurant, ironing service, the possibility of day care on site, holiday daycare and discounts in different sport clubs and shops. To decrease our ecological footprint 100% of the transport by train is reimbursed by imec.
Profile
You have a PhD or Master degree in Chemistry or Physics, and at least 5 years of experience with plasma etch in the semiconductor industry. You are an organized engineer, eager to learn, you work within time limits and you take initiative. Since this involves intensive collaboration with integration and support engineers, you are a team player with excellent communication and reporting skills. The day-to-day contact with people from all over the world makes fluency in English a necessity.
