We want to get the best out of science, others and ourselves. Why? Because this is what the world around us desperately needs. Leading research and education make an indispensable contribution to a healthy, free world with equal opportunities for all. This is what unites the more than 24,000 students and 5,600 employees at Radboud University. And this requires even more talent, collaboration and lifelong learning. You have a part to play!
We are looking for five outstanding researchers and lecturers in the field of computing science on the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level. Candidates should bring extensive knowledge of and expertise on a subject that is related or adjacent to research conducted at the Institute for Computing and Information Sciences (iCIS).
Research and teaching go hand in hand in our vision on academia. Suitable candidates have the drive to lead the development of the teaching curriculum and contribute to its innovation.
You will lead the research in your area of expertise. This will include the supervision of PhD candidates as well as students in the bachelor's and master's programmes, and collaboration with other staff members at iCIS. This should result in high-quality scientific output. You will help attract research grants and cooperate in writing joint research proposals with other group members, looking for national and international collaboration in research projects, and realising the necessary funding to attract a continuous flow of PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers. You enjoy collaborating with others within and beyond your discipline and are enthusiastic about the opportunity to extend and deepen the inter- and intra-faculty relationships between researchers on campus.
You are collaborative and have a clear view on leadership. You show a professional and personal interest in your co-workers and group members, and you support them in their research and teaching ambitions. You help create a workplace that is supportive and inclusive. You will participate in the leadership of the Institute and contribute to management activities related to research and education.
Assistant Professor
You have an active research programme and a commitment to teaching excellence. You will supervise Bachelor's, Master's and internship projects as well as PhD candidates. You will also contribute to teaching activities in bachelor’s courses in Computer Science and master’s courses in the Computer Science and/or Information Science programmes.
Associate/Full Professor
You have a solid track record in international scientific research as evidenced by a continuous flow of publications in leading journals and/or conferences. You are able to attract external research funding as evidenced by several research grants obtained. You are able to teach at the bachelor’s and master’s levels and supervise MSc students and PhD candidates. Furthermore, you should be able to develop and innovate our education and teaching programme.
Profile
You should hold a PhD. Descriptions of the other qualifications required for the positions available can be found attached. These other qualifications should not be considered hard constraints: you may qualify also if you do not (yet) meet all listed qualifications, but convincingly demonstrate the ambition to develop these competences and other qualifications are fully met and compensate for the one(s) that need further development.
