Sales Engineer Job Description

The position:

• Provide an important contribution to the development and execution of the sales policy and annual plan for the Netherlands
• Visit customers and maintain relationships with them; draw up meeting reports and action plans
• Aquire new customers and assess existing and future sales opportunities
• Analyze and report on the sales results with regard to the assigned targets
• Negotiate with customers or prospects regarding system configurations, prices and commercial conditions
• Manage and monitor requests for quotation, quotations, and other commercial correspondence
• Assist promotional activities within the Netherlands, such as expositions, symposia, etc.
• Adequately respond to the technical and commercial questions posed by our customers or prospects, in close cooperation with our technical back office
• Follow up on the quotations made to customers or prospects as well as on start-up and aftercare of the supplied equipment
• Coordinate and carry out product demonstrations for customers or prospects

Sales Engineer Job Requirements

Profile:

• At least Dutch HBO-level education in biotechnology/biology including medical laboratory research work, microbiology or bioprocess technology. Preference is given to an education that is supplemented by commercial training
• Preferentially 1-3 years of experience in a similar function
• Good commercial and social skills
• Knowledge of the product range functionalities is a definite plus
• Large measure of independence and flexibility
• Good oral and written command of Dutch and English
• Dutch B driver's license
