Job Mission
As a Patent Attorney at ASML, you will help the company build a world class patent portfolio protecting ASML’s innovations. A successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of ASML’s patent portfolio. This role requires the attorney to interact directly with the engineers and outside counsel to shape and implement ASML’s patent strategy on a world-wide basis.
Job Description
Responsible for performing a wide range of patent law functions arising within the Company. This position will be based in San Jose and will report to the local senior patent counsel. Responsibilities will include overseeing the preparation and prosecution of patent applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and internationally. Additionally this position will provide intellectual property law guidance, including freedom to operate advice, to Company scientists, engineers, and management. The position requires a team player who is able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Reporting: This position will report to Senior Patent Attorney in the Applications Corporate IP (CIP) Group. Team information: The Applications Group provides IP services to scientists, engineers and management involved with the Company’s products covering computational lithography, metrology, and inspection.
Education
Licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.Juris Doctorate (J.D.), from an accredited law school with excellent academic performance.
Bachelor’s Degree in the engineering or physical sciences disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, systems and controls science, physics, materials, or optics. Advanced degree in physics with experience in optics a plus.
