Introduction
ENJOY PERFECTING ULTRA-EXTREME-PRECISION OPTICS SYSTEMS
Imagine perfecting an optical system where aberrations are kept to within one thousandth of the wavelength used. One where 200kg reflectors must be positioned to within an accuracy of less than one nanometer. And then repositioned every second to compensate for millikelvin fluctuations.Imagine using a sensitivity matrix with multiple thousands of elements to calculate how to reposition those mirrors. And imagine working with a highly motivated team, dedicated to perfecting this extreme-precision instrumentation and optical system. If you enjoy working at (and beyond) the edge of what is possible in optics, ASML is your ideal environment. ASML is the world's leading provider of lithography systems for the semiconductor industry. Our machines use Deep Utraviolet (DUV) and Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) light which have 193 and 13.5 nm wavelengths respectively. The necessary degree of control accuracy is so extreme and the instrumentation needed to enable that control is so complex, that ASML optics engineers need expertise in many other fields. Colleagues in physics, mechatronics, electronics, software, thermal engineering and dynamics all share their knowledge to help each other innovate. Do you enjoy teamwork, sharing a vision and solving problems using creative thinking? If so you will enjoy ASML! It’s a great opportunity for professional development and personal growth, especially when you are a true self-starter, and like making contact with different disciplines at different levels.
Within ASML the Sector Development & Engineering (DE) is responsible for the planning,
development and delivery of integrated solutions that meet business requirements and the sector specifies trade-offs across sectors.
In order to successfully manage such projects, ASML is always open to promising project leaders. We offer various levels of positions to experienced project leaders; from sub-project leaders to senior project leaders.
Job Mission
As a Project Leader/ Manager, you will be a key player in a very fast paced, multi-disciplinary environment. Primarily you are responsible for the timely delivery of all aspects of your project. You will be managing a project of architects and designers from several competences like thermal architecture, mechanics, electronics, mechatronics and optics, to drive the design to completion and bring it to volume production. As the program is managing systems
in the field at the same time as well, this means you also have a lot of interaction with our customer support sector. Besides that, contact with other sectors like supply chain management, logistics, procurement and manufacturing will be part of your daily work as well, as key to meeting the end goal of your project is a successful transfer of your deliverables to these sectors. In this role, you will have formal responsibility to manage your project resources and
scope and hence you will report to the program cluster manager.
