We provide the world’s top chipmakers everything they need to create better performing, cheaper semiconductor chips. Simply put: we are an industry leader supporting industry leaders.
As such, you’ll be encouraged to bring your best ideas and act on them. You’ll have the freedom, trust, and support in your field to experiment and solve complex challenges. Things are rarely dull when you’re constantly breaking new ground.
But despite our fast-paced environment at the forefront of tech, we take your work-life balance and wellbeing seriously. A business is only as good as its employees.
So join us, and you’ll be a part of a global collaboration. One that promotes creativity, the inclusion of highly diverse teams, and an exciting and dynamic work environment. Join us, and you’ll be a part of progress.
Introduction
ASML is a leadingmanufacturer of lithography equipment. In the latest systems, light, plasma andmaterials interact at surfaces. Optimizing processes requires a profoundunderstanding of surface chemistry, plasma-material interactions and of photoninduced processes. Since ASML works at cutting edge technology, a lot ofphenomena are very unique and have a first-of-a-kind character.
Job Mission
To strengthen the chemistry competence, ASML Research is looking for a Surface Chemist or Surface Scientist, who can add value to the understanding ofreactive plasma-surface interactions.
Job Description
You will work in a multidisciplinary team with Chemists,Physicists, Electrical and Mechanical engineers. You have a profound understanding of thereactions and processes occurring at and below surfaces exposed to a plasma.Based on high-level problem descriptions you can define hypotheses onunderlying mechanisms and relevant experimental tests. Subsequently you areable to perform these tests and translate the results into kinetic equations, models, and design rules to improve product performance. Next to this, the job involvesexperiments in a laboratory with UHV equipment and low-pressure discharges.
Education
(Technical) University PhD in Chemistry, Heterogeneous catalysis with experience in experimental approaches, Surface science with a focus on molecularinteractions. Relevant 2-5 years of experience is appreciated.
