EUMETSAT is now inviting well qualified candidates from its Member States to apply for the following post:
This post supports the cooperation with ESA on the space segment for the EUMETSAT Polar System - Second Generation (EPS-SG) / Metop - Second Generation (Metop-SG) programme.
After an initial introduction phase at EUMETSAT, the duty station will be in the ESA establishment in the Netherlands (ESTEC, Noordwijk). The post holder will report to the ESA Metop-SG Project Manager as a member of the established joint Single Space Segment Team (SSST) whilst maintaining close coordination with the EPS-SG Programme Manager in EUMETSAT.
Up until the end of commissioning of both proto-flight model satellites (2024) of Metop-SG, the duty station will remain at ESTEC, Noordwijk, Netherlands and may be then moved to the EUMETSAT Headquarters afterwards

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
The initial contract will be of 4 years’ duration, with subsequent 5 year contracts being awarded thereafter, subject to individual performance and organisation requirements. There is no limit to the amount of follow-up contracts a staff member can receive up to the EUMETSAT retirement age of 63 and there are certainly opportunities to establish a long career perspective at EUMETSAT.
This post is graded A4/A5 on the EUMETSAT salary scales. The minimum basic salary for this post is EURO 8047 per month (net of internal tax) which may be negotiable based on skills and experience. The salary scale provides for increments on the anniversary of taking up employment, and scales are reviewed by the EUMETSAT Council with effect from 1 January each year.
