Tribology Lab Engineer Job Description

Introduction
ASML Research is looking for a Tribology  Lab  Engineer with experience in building experimental test setups. If you have laboratory experience and  you are interested to work for ASML, this might be the right opportunity for you.

Job Mission
The Tribology Lab  Engineer will develop and run the laboratory equipment and test setups.

Job Description
Your daily activities will be:
Responsible for the tribology lab & machine father for the experimental test setup :

• The tribology test setup is a complex mechatronic equipment, to be used by various designers and experimentalists.
• The tribology test setup requires specific samples, for which dedicated sample preparation tooling exists.
• Machine father tasks: being 1st point of contact for experimenters, tracking sample stock, managing sample preparations, ensure that the BIT remains well functioning (with help of external expertise if needed).

• You are responsible for a safe and good operating lab (5s+1). Efficient cabin layout, version control of equipment, maintenance in good order, assisting experimenters and incidental support.
• If needed execute or lead design and realization of limited equipment adaptations. This can be hardware and/or software.

• Execution of experiments need various samples and sample preparations. You do the ordering (PR/PO) and intake process (in consultation with the PL) and keep track of the sample backlog.
• Moving equipment  in and out.

Tribology Lab Engineer Job Requirements

Education
BSc in Engineering or technical discipline (e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, Electronics). Experience with high precision equipment, lab automation and software.

Experience
5+ years of experience in R&D environment with multi-disciplinary projects.

Personal skills

• Driven to work and cooperate within a highly skilled team of experts towards a common goal.
• Pragmatic, hands on attitude.
• Able to communicate effectively across disciplines.
• Fluent in English.
