Warehouse Operations Manager (3PL) Job Description

Introduction

Job Mission
The operations excellence leader will manage a small team to execute the delivery and returns of materials to the customer site, drive and deliver process improvement, manage the 3PL warehouse and support the rollout of new systems & processes. This role is focused on improving materials availability and delivery.​

Job Description
The operations excellence leader is responsible for managing a team to plan and move materials between the customer site and 3PL warehouse. A key aspect of the role is to work between teams to achieve operational targets within the demanding and fast paced environment. This will require a broad scope of knowledge within the business being able to bring alignment across different functional areas. The operations leader will be responsible for further developing reporting processes to extend visibility to the local organization.
Main responsibilities:

• Manage the local 3PL to maintain operations within budget and follow the correct processes.
• Efficiently manage warehouse space, direct the organization of materials, oversee material handling, and establish clean bench processes.
• Responsible for conducting quarterly cycle count audits and resolving inventory discrepancies.
• Develop and maintain a training program to ensure all team members are fully trained and effective.
• Delivery KPIs reporting for the supply chain team from which improvement activities can be driven.
• Manage day to day escalations related to material availability from customer fab, freight forwarders and external 3PL’s.
• Manage the flow of materials between the 3PL and customer site while continuously improving efficiency and driving down costs.
• Identify and implement improvements in coordination with a central program and warehousing  team.
• Monitor reverse logistics flow and develop mitigation strategies to reduce dock-to-stock processing times.
• Facilitate sea freight container reservations, booking, and loading with 3PL staff.​

Warehouse Operations Manager (3PL) Job Requirements

Education
Bachelor’s degree required; masters preferred – Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Finance, Engineering, or equivalent experience.​

Experience

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience of 5S and lean principles is advantageous.
• SAP Experience highly preferred.
• Understanding of warehouse management systems.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a high pace warehouse environment.
• Organizational skills and follow through a must.
• Knowledge of space utilization and warehouse layouts preferred.
• Must have 5+ years experience in managing a small team people within in a Warehousing, Distribution, Supply Chain, Operations or Production Planning roles.
• Advantageous to have experience in:
  • Complex multi-national company
  • Semiconductor industry
  • VBA
