Mechanical Design Engineer Job Description

Introduction
A mechanical design engineer designs (sub-)modules / tools, in cooperation with other disciplines and suppliers, within the limits of given system specifications, costs, and project planning. In some cases involvement in realization- or integration phase of a project is required.

Job Mission
Specify, design, develop, realize, integrate, and test (sub-)modules / tools, in cooperation with other disciplines and suppliers, within the limits of system specifications, costs, and project planning, to ensure the timely realization of (sub-)modules as part of competitive, achievable, and serviceable products.
Developed product meets all specifications, deviations are accepted. Product specifications are feasible, known to all relevant parties and relevant underlying assumptions and restrictions are understood, technical product documentation (TPD) is up-to-date and of good quality.

Job Description

• Executes mono disciplinary engineering tasks (realization or implementation) and tests specifications and contributes to or produces partial designs;
• See level 5 and interfaces with PL and interfaces incidentally with suppliers;
• Some autonomy within own area of expertise, works independently, within practices and procedures. Issues are discussed with team/TL;
• In-depth knowledge of own tasks within own area of expertise and basic sub module & module knowledge;
• Understands engineering problems related to own tasks and proposes different solutions to choose from, in an environment with some technical uncertainties;
• Key interfaces: TL, own team and PL and interfaces incidentally with suppliers.

Mechanical Design Engineer Job Requirements

Education
Technical High school (HBO) or University degree in mechanical engineering.

Experience

• 0-2 years relevant working experience;
• Work experience with Unigraphics NX required;
• ASML experience wanted;
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering;
• Experience with precision engineering or opto-mechanics is a prae;
• Understands engineering problems related to own tasks and proposes different solutions to choose from, in an environment with some technical uncertainties;
• Executes mono disciplinary engineering tasks (realization or implementation) and tests specifications and contributes to or produces partial designs

• Team player with good communicational skills;
• Good knowledge of English;
• Detail oriented (quality focus);
• Flexible.
