Inspector Electrical Test Set-ups Job Description

Introduction
Do you have an Electrical Engineer background (HTS or MTS and with 10 years' of relevant work experience) and are your safety minded? Would you like to do technical inspection of electrical test setups and lab equipment? Would you be the sparring partner for our setup owners for structural safety improvements for our 400 test setups. Influencing without power is one of your strenghs. 

Job Mission
As Inspector Electrical Test Set-ups you provide expertise in operational safety and product safety. You are responsible for the technical safety inspections of all lab equipment within D&E. The main focus of the Operational safety expert is to perform electrical inspections. The purpose of the electrical inspection is to verify that a test setup is in accordance with the safety regulations  / legislation and the specified technical requirements of the relevant standards.

The standards for these setups are based on NEN3140, NEN3840, NEN EN60204-1, NFPA79 and the local safety standards.The Inspector Electrical Test Set-ups is a sparring partner of the ERP (Electrical Responsible Person), supporting in structural solutions for lab equipment and test setups. The Electrical Safety Expert also supports in the process to nominate engineers within the D&E organization for electrical work and he/she has a supporting role in the incident management system.

Job Description

• 70% shop floor operations, 20% technical consultancy and 10% office & meetings;
• Technical inspection of test setups and lab equipment;
• Acts as primary contact for inspections;
• Arrange planning and preparations for inspections;
• Write inspection rapports and communicate results with setup owner;
• Is able to constructively present & communicate safety issues with employees on PhD and Master level;
• Sparring partner of ERP;
• Will have an important role in nominate electrical engineers.

Education

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or at least 6 year relevant electrical safety experience with a WEB 4 (Dutch Adult and Vocational Training act) MBO Electronics and 10 years of relevant work experience.
• Safety engineering (MVK or HVK).

• at least 6 year relevant electrical safety experience with a WEB 4 (Dutch Adult and Vocational Training act) MBO Electronics and 10 years of relevant work experience.
• Safety engineering (MVK or HVK)

• Electrical standards NEN3140 / NEN3840
• Inspection & auditing techniques
• Risk assessment & classification techniques

• Safety minded
• Knowledge of operational safety and product safety
• Proactive and takes initiatives within own area of expertise.
• Is able to communicate clearly, concisely and directly to peers and customers.
• Is able to convince others to make safety a priority especially to academic educated users of the test setups.
• Keeps deadlines within the framework of daily operations;
• Through a knowledge base of (technical) safety(theories) is able to factually support his case.
• Is creative in finding safety solutions in a wide variety of circumstances.
• Skilled in verbal and written communication (English);
