EUMETSAT is Europe’s meteorological satellite agency. Its role is to establish and operate meteorological satellites to monitor the weather and climate from space - 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This information is supplied to the National Meteorological Services of the organisation's Member and Cooperating States in Europe, as well as other users worldwide.
EUMETSAT also operates several Copernicus missions on behalf of the European Union and provide data services to the Copernicus marine and atmospheric services and their users.

EUMETSAT is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team. You will work with all parts of our organisation, engaging our teams to embed quality into everything we do. If you are interested, please apply using reference VN18 74.
The initial focus in this role will be the provision of Quality and Product Assurance for the planned EUMETSAT Polar System Second Generation (EPS-SG) System. This Programme is one of EUMETSAT’s most prestigious and is expected to be the most important source of satellite observations for all forecasts based on Numerical Weather Predictions in the 2021–2040 timeframe. The role will provide quality and product assurance support for the design and development of end-to-end low earth orbit satellite systems, comprising satellites, launch services and ground segment.

The success of our missions is crucial for weather forecasting and environmental monitoring, and you could play a major part in this.
In this role you will have the opportunity to contribute to the definition and implementation of QA processes, you will also define and maintain QA plans and working practices and support the design phases of programmes in development. We expect you to be able to assess QA plans provided by our contractors during the various programme phases, to follow up any root cause analysis and to drive through any agreed corrective actions.
You should have a University degree in engineering, Physics or Computer Science and ideally a professional certification as a quality auditor. You should also have a solid experience in QA/PA for the design, procurement and Integration, Verification and Validation (IV&V) of complex software intensive products. Ideally you should have experience gained from the aerospace field and have knowledge and practice of ISO 9001:2015, ECSS/M and relevant EN standards.
