Introduction

It is critical that we secure ASML’s global intellectual property position by establishing and maintaining our portfolio of patent rights.
Job Mission
The Formality Officer supports patent processes and drives patent related procedures within the Corporate Intellectual Property department. We are looking for candidates with experience in managing administrative tasks and the ambition to develop an expertise in the field of Intellectual Property.
Job Description
Work together with at least 2 Patent Attorneys on supporting patent processes end-to-end (from generating ideas to patents being granted).
Execute regular Formality Officers activities, such as:
Education
Bachelor degree, preferably law, and willing to become certified as a Formality Officer (via the ‘Platform Formality Officers’ training program). Candidates who have acquired an equivalent level of knowledge through experience will also be considered.Independent from the Formality Officer certification program, an internal ASML paralegal training program will be provided.
Experience
Preferably at least 15 years of work experience in an administrative field.
Legal knowledge is not a must, but interest in Intellectual Property Management Systems is important.
Proven English language (verbal and written) and fluent in Dutch language.
Experience with Windows10 and MS Office (PowerPoint, Word and Excel).
Personal skills
Accurate, structured working style; pro-active, customer friendly and cooperative attitude.
Team player with a positive mindset focused on solutions.
Context of the position
This job is located in Veldhoven at the ASML campus and is for 1.0 FTE.You will become a member of an international team of 15 Formality Officers (Veldhoven (11), Wilton (1), San Diego (2) and San Jose (1)).
