EUMETSAT is now inviting well qualified candidates from its Member States to apply for the following post:
We require two engineers with experience of Mission Planning gained through the operations or development of satellite systems. One post will focus on Low-Earth Orbit, the other on geostationary satellites. You will manage Mission Planning for routine and special operations, and oversee and contribute to the life-cycle of evolutions as we track improvements and upgrades.
You will have the opportunity to work with mission partners, such as ESA, CNES, NOAA and NASA to coordinate mission planning and implement cross-support agreements. Working with other operations teams at EUMETSAT, you will enhance our understanding of the operational needs of all space and ground segments required for Mission Planning and help us to define and implement cost-effective solutions.
With experience of working with partner agencies, you will have managed small teams, possibly in a matrix environment. You can work with minimal supervision, with a capacity to work in a clear and structured fashion.
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and can use their initiative, as appropriate. You will be dealing with complex technical concepts, and need to be able to present these ideas simply in formal documents and verbal presentations. You need to be able to step up and support the Mission Planning Manager in managing the Mission Planning Support Service during any absence.
What we offer
EUMETSAT provides a collaborative, international environment with opportunities to establish a long career perspective. We offer a competitive salary and outstanding benefits. We offer the chance to work on exciting satellite programmes - both current and planned. You will play a leading role in managing the planning of the operations of our satellites already in orbit; making a difference to our missions and partners, often working with people who are experts in their field.
Does this sound like you?
Have a look at our website to find out how you can make a world of difference. We value diversity and seek to recruit nationals from our Member States. The closing date is 14th November with interviews scheduled for w/c 14th January.
