EUMETSAT is Europe’s meteorological satellite agency. Its role is to establish and operate meteorological satellites to monitor the weather and climate from space - 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This information is supplied to the National Meteorological Services of the organisation's Member and Cooperating States in Europe, as well as other users worldwide.
EUMETSAT also operates several Copernicus missions on behalf of the European Union and provide data services to the Copernicus marine and atmospheric services and their users.
As an intergovernmental European Organisation, EUMETSAT has 30 Member States (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom.)

With more than 700,000 visits each year to our website from 202 countries using 317 languages, we are looking for an experienced developer to interactively showcase our work to help inform, educate and inspire visitors. The use of technology is critical to our success and we need someone who can visualise our services and products, bringing them to life.
Your role at EUMETSAT
At EUMETSAT, we have experts monitoring, delivering and interpreting data from our satellites. This information is used to forecast weather, sea temperatures and air quality. Our use of technology is vital to everyday life. You will have the opportunity to use your creativity to exploit our remote sensing products and to develop computer generated visualisations for our website and social media channels.

You will need to extensive experience of developing successful websites ideally in a scientific or technical environment. You will maintain and develop interactive content for all our on-line channels reflecting the way our forecasting is developing to suit the needs of our partners and users now and in the future. You will need outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to visualise and explain complex information simply. We work in a matrix environment, so you will need to be able to work in multi-disciplinary teams, as well as independently.
