Your role at EUMETSAT
At EUMETSAT we operate and control a fleet of satellites and payloads that support our missions. We therefore have experts in controlling spacecraft and, in parallel, monitoring, delivering and interpreting the data that they produce for us. This information is used to forecast weather, sea surface temperatures and air quality. Our use of technology is vital to everyday life. Your expertise in developing software-intensive, near-real time ground systems will have been gained in an operational environment. You will be involved in the life cycle of development – from analysing requirements and generating technical solutions, through to their Verification and Validation. You will work with a variety of partners and teams in a matrix environment, using your organisational skills to balance priorities and schedules. Some knowledge of the processing of data broadcast by meteorological satellites to X/L Band stations would be advantageous.
You need excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple internal and external interfaces. We are a fast paced, operational organisation, working closely with users and partners from industry and space agencies. You will need to be customer focused and have experience of working in a service driven environment.
