EUMETSAT is Europe’s meteorological satellite agency. Its role is to establish and operate meteorological satellites to monitor the weather and climate from space - 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This information is supplied to the National Meteorological Services of the organisation's Member and Cooperating States in Europe, as well as other users worldwide.
EUMETSAT also operates several Copernicus missions on behalf of the European Union and provide data services to the Copernicus marine and atmospheric services and their users.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) professional to take responsibility for our ground segments computer systems and their security. You will ensure that our operational computer systems support our current and future missions, including the exciting Copernicus missions that EUMETSAT operates on behalf of the European Union. You will have the opportunity to support and deputise for the Computing Services Team Leader and to be involved with designing architectural evolutions, managing upgrades to our infrastructure either in-house or with our industrial partners. In this role you will also support our Security Team to ensure our systems are compliant, initiating swift and proactive action when identifying and addressing any security vulnerabilities. This is a high availability, operational system and any maintenance or updates need to be co-ordinated with the Operations Department.
With experience of maintaining large scale, high-availability and/or time critical computer systems, you will bring your understanding of ITIL best practice. You will also have strong interpersonal skills and be able to apply these when working within a matrix environment and when managing our partners.
