EUMETSAT is Europe’s meteorological satellite agency. Its role is to establish and operate meteorological satellites to monitor the weather and climate from space - 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This information is supplied to the National Meteorological Services of the organisation's Member and Cooperating States in Europe, as well as other users worldwide.
EUMETSAT also operates several Copernicus missions on behalf of the European Union and provide data services to the Copernicus marine and atmospheric services and their users.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced software engineer to undertake the engineering and maintenance of our Flight Dynamics (FD) software applications and related tools. Managing the technical aspects of support contracts with industry, you will measure their performance against agreed service levels. You will lead on defining and completing maintenance procedures, correcting anomalies, ensuring that we track improvements and upgrades to improve the consistency and consolidation of our skills and knowledge in our Flight Dynamics functions across all EUMETSAT’s systems.

With a background in maintaining large scale software systems, ideally in support of spacecraft mission lifecycles in an operational environment, you will understand the quality standards relevant to Space Mission Control and Flight Dynamics. You will use your knowledge of ESA (European Space Agency) NAPEOS Flight Dynamics software, functions and algorithms used within Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) missions in combination with Software Engineering skills to support the maintenance and development of existing and new ground segment systems. This role requires strong planning and analytical skills and you need to be able to explain complex concepts in an international team environment.
