Introduction
ASML brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. We design, develop, integrate, market and service these advanced machines, which enable our customers - the world’s leading chipmakers – to reduce the size and increase the functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics.

Our headquarters are in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, which is also the home base for this vacancy. From this home base, you are expected to travel a minimum of one month per quartile to customer sites across the globe to support our service teams.

The months at home base are spent on actively following up potential improvements, ensuring issues do not reoccur, supporting colleagues that are working at customer sites at that moment, training, and so forth. We are looking specifically for people who have the potential and are willing to grow further in the Design and Engineering teams of ASML.


Job Mission
As a Generalist you are the "technical conscience" of the upgrade team and first point of contact for technical support and troubleshooting at the customer site.

You are responsible for anticipating, mitigating, resolving, and documenting risks and issues, and identifying and driving improvements in order to reduce upgrade cycle time. In all situations your first priority is to be an ambassador for safety.

You will also help to provide additional knowledge and training to the upgrade engineers.

Job Description

• Be an ASML ambassador at customer sites across the globe
• Monitor the upgrade on a technical level and advise on identifiable risks for at least the coming 24 hours
• Prevent known issues from occurring, secure lessons learned, and proactively involve remote support during the upgrade
• First point of contact for troubleshooting technical problems and involving other departments when needed
• Deliver technical support to contribute to rapid solutions and containment of complex technical issues
• Take proper actions to minimize impact on cycle time when issues ariseInvolve additional help from other departments (D&E, IE, MF, SV, etc.) in a timely manner and conform an agreed-upon escalation process
• Ensure adherence to the proper escalation process
• Manage the technical escalation by ensuring that the right data is available to the right people and provide regular updates to management and other stakeholders
• Prevent issues from re-occurring by ensuring proper issue resolution in cooperation with the responsible project leader
• Proactively look at proposed upgrade scenario and identify missing items and potential bottlenecks
• Travel required conform a 4x4 schedule: 1 month per quartile is the minimum commitment required for this role

EUV Upgrades Generalist (Development and Engineering) Job Requirements

Education
Bachelor degree in an engineering field or other technical discipline (for example: mathematics, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electronics, (applied) physics, etc.) or equivalent experience

Experience

• Engineers with at least 2 years relevant ASML experience are preferred
• At least 1-3 years work experience in analysis of complex problems
• Experience with trouble-shooting: analyzing problems, finding root causes and providing solutions and/or action plans
• Experience with system recovery sequences much appreciated

• Open to- and an ability to work effectively with cultural differences
• Pragmatic attitude, motivated, proactive, self-driven and flexible
• High sense of responsibility and dedication
• Highly stress-resistent
• Broad technical and business knowledge with an ability to communicate effectively in both areas
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on problem solving
• Outstanding skills in communication (both verbal and written, in English), including documentation
• Highly organized
• Multitasker with the ability to work in different and difficult working environment
• Good team player who would be committed to the success and growth of ASML and will help to guard team safety
