EUMETSAT is Europe’s meteorological satellite agency. Its role is to establish and operate meteorological satellites to monitor the weather and climate from space - 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This information is supplied to the National Meteorological Services of the organisation's Member and Cooperating States in Europe, as well as other users worldwide.
EUMETSAT also operates several Copernicus missions on behalf of the European Union and provide data services to the Copernicus marine and atmospheric services and their users.

EUMETSAT is now inviting well qualified candidates from its Member States to apply for the following post:
EUMETSAT, the European meteorological satellite agency is looking to recruit a Contracts Officer. Bringing together the resources of 30 member states, we observe the atmosphere, ocean, and land surfaces from space using a system of satellites 365 days a year. Our data is vital for weather forecasts that help to protect lives and property, as well as monitoring the environment and our changing climate. We want you to come and join our team that will shape the suppliers and components supporting our satellite programmes.
With experience of procurement in an international public body, ideally for high technology products, you will be capable of understanding our complex requirements and be able to safeguard EUMETSAT’s interest in all its commercial and contractual lifecycles. You will prepare and evaluate tenders for service contracts and general supplies, negotiate service and supply contracts or Purchase Orders and ensure that our purchases are compliant with our procedures.

You will be experienced in negotiating with industry and engaging with partners, gaining their co-operation in the procurement and the commercial management of EUMETSAT’s specifications.
This is a multi-lingual environment and you need to be proactive when working independently or in teams. Experience of SAP would be beneficial.
Our working languages are English and French, and for this role, knowledge of German would be helpful.
