We are recruiting for two Instrument Functional Chain engineers to support the development of our MTG programme. Each engineer will take responsibility for the development and end to end performance of a complete instrument functional chain, either Lightning Imager (LI) or Infrared Sounder (IRS) and UV/Visible/Near-infrared spectrometer (UVN). With responsibility for system engineering activities on the identified instrument chain you will support the production and maintenance of system and performance requirements applicable to each instrument functional chain, including their allocation to the different MTG system components. You will also follow-up MTG system design and development to ensure system and performance requirements applicable to each instrument functional chain can be verified.
This is a great opportunity for a System Engineer to drive the development of these functional instrument chains as part of a highly technical engineering team and to plan, coordinate and monitor the development of instrument and data processing systems.
You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a proven ability to apply these when working within and across teams.
We offer a competitive salary and attractive benefits, along with extensive relocation assistance, if applicable.
