Proposal Manager Job Description

YOUR JOB:

We are looking for a Proposal Manager to join our Sales department, located in Kinderdijk. Taking responsibility for the project management of proposals in the pre-contractual phase, you will determine the planning, development and execution information for bids (including gathering specifications, risks and timings). As the single point of contact for (internal) stakeholders during the lifespan of the proposal process, you will advise on commercial and non-commercial issues, in order to provide documents to the (internal) customer within agreed timescales. You will also facilitate the closing of the contract to specific requirements to ensure a smooth handover to the Project Manager. In this role, you will report to the head of the Sales department and in close cooperation with the product teams. As the Proposal Manager, you will be responsible for: 

• identifying and analysing proposal requirements based on the customer’s need, tender selection criteria, budget restrictions etc
• preparing and completing the proposal planning, organising the execution of projects, and obtaining approval
• providing cost estimations for the projects to include in quotes
• advising and informing stakeholders about project-related costs
• providing the relevant technical and commercial quotation documents, and ensuring that final documentation is prepared.

Proposal Manager Job Requirements

YOUR PROFILE:

To be eligible for the position of Proposal Manager, you must have: 

• a higher professional education (HBO) in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
• general experience of offshore deck equipment 
• an affinity with dredge equipment and the shipbuilding market (desirable)
• at least three years of professional experience in a similar role
• excellent communication skills in English and Dutch, both verbal and written
• the ability to work independently
• knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), ERP and PDM packages, as well as Solid Works or Solid Edge (preferable)
• the ability to work comfortably with automated systems
• an accurate, stress-resistant, flexible, innovative and team-centred approach 
• a performance- and result-oriented mind set
• a customer-oriented and commercial attitude
• a willingness to travel globally to support sales.
