Commissioning Engineer Job Description

YOUR JOB:

As a Commissioning Engineer, you will not only work in The Netherlands, but elsewhere across the world as required. IHC’s Service Operations department is accessible to customers on a global 24/7 basis, offering startup and guarantee services, training and technical support. It is made up of specialists, such as commissioning engineers, dredgemasters, and electrotechnical and project engineers. 
Within this role, your duties will include the following:

  • commissioning and testing equipment/installations
  • instructing customers at our building yards or on location
  • planning, coordinating and reporting on commissioning processes
  • coordinating all related stakeholders concerning the vessel 
  • assisting with troubleshooting 
  • acting as a vital link between the operation of the customer and IHC, including passing on feedback to the organisation
  • understanding the customer’s needs and offering the optimal solutions for their requirements.

Commissioning Engineer Job Requirements

YOUR PROFILE:

To be eligible for the position of Commissioning Engineer, you must have the following:

  • higher vocational level (HBO), preferably from a nautical college
  • at least five years of experience as an engineer on offshore installations
  • ability to work and live on international sites and vessels
  • willingness to travel and be away from home for a long period of time
  • valid Chief engineer (CoC) is advantageous
  • valid offshore examination, training, VCA and hoisting certificates are advantageous
  • an independent, flexible and solution-oriented nature, as well as a stress-resistant and customer-oriented personality
  • excellent communication skills in English and Dutch, both spoken and written
  • only candidates with valid EU work visa will be considered as viable candidates
