Senior Engineering Specialist Job Description

Your key accountabilities:

• Be accountable for the global evaluation, execution and continuously improve compliant, effective, efficient and state of the art E&M standards at Lonza;
• As a subject matter expert (SME) you develop work streams which will address topics like: processes and organization of E&M, planning and scheduling, workspace and workflows, spare part management, maintenance strategy, KPI definition and control, OEE measurements, Reliability and Maintenance Effectiveness Reviews, Costing and IT tools;
• Contribute to addressing strategic questions like insourcing vs. outsourcing and centralization vs. decentralization by providing SME input and data to drive informed decisions;
• Act as a global project leader to progress different work streams;
• Support sites during audit to justify Lonza global standards;
• Drive troubleshooting activities;
• Represent your subject matter in integration projects;
• Contribute in a risk based manner to production unit refurbishment and new constructions to build-in best practices in E&M;
• Ensure a culture of mutual accountability and full collaboration with customers and diverse Lonza sites as well as departments for effective implementation and sustainable endorsement of standards;
• Forge strong relationships with other departments (eg. QA, Manufacturing, Quality Control, Analytical Services, Global Engineering, Product Development).

Senior Engineering Specialist Job Requirements

Our expectations:

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent;
• Experience in Engineering/ Maintenance in a highly controlled environment with high standards in technology such as the biopharmaceutical industry;
• Proven hands-on experience in implementing best practices in Engineering or Maintenance in a multi-site environment;
• Excellent knowledge of state of the art Maintenance or Engineering processes and knowledge the relevant tools;
• High level of project management skills and familiar with Operational Excellence tools;
• Leadership experience of global teams with indirect reporting;
• Fluency in English and the readiness for substantial international travel is a prerequisite for this position;
• Excellent communications skills;
• Strategic thinking and like working in an open and global environment;
• Creative, driven, hands on and a reliable team player.
