Vanderlande is a worldwide leading supplier of baggage handling systems for airports, sorting systems for Warehouse automation and Parcel and Postal services. Operating internationally means fierce competition. Continuous innovation is the key to win in a world that is changing faster and faster. Innovation is essential for Vanderlande to supply the specific solutions required by its customers.
That is where the R&D department comes in, with over 200 people developing the necessary hard- and software in-house.
Description of our possibilities
User Experience (UX) design encompasses the totality of the technology, content, interaction and aesthetics that people experience from all touchpoints they have with our products, systems and services. With our systems and products becoming more and more complex one uncertain factor remains: users. By placing the user in a central role throughout the product development process, we are able to design and deliver solutions that fit user needs.
This way of working ensures we deliver intuitive and easy to use products which minimize operator errors and increase productivity.Our UX designers are involved in defining the design strategy, ideation and conceptualization throughout the entire product development process. This requires a multidisciplinary skill set and excellent communication skills in order to cope with all of the various stakeholders that are involved in the development process.
The UX designers apply design thinking principles and are responsible for keeping user- and customer requirements in scope of the development team. Throughout the development process the UX designer has to continuously ensure that the end product will live up to the initally defined user needs.
