Support Engineer Job Description

Our Web Based application enables customers to manage their risks, perform internal audits and monitor compliance as to keep their business in control. As a third line support engineer you are responsible for supporting the Customer Support Centre, Application Management, Global Professional Services and customers in solving customer incidents. You are part of a Scrum Team and you are an expert in finding root causes of problems in the usage of the BWise software and you are willing to take a dive into the BWise software stack. You enjoy working in an Agile way and want to contribute to the continuous improvement of the performance of the Scrum Team and the quality of our product.

What are your daily activities?
In short your main tasks will be:

  • analyze the root cause of a customer incident and document the solution;
  • submit change requests in case of software problems / suggestion for improvements;
  • support members of Research & Development, Customer Support, Application Management and Global Professional Services;
  • organize and participate in remote support sessions with customer when needed;
  • find root causes of the problems by analyzing the BWise Java source code;
  • occasionally visit customers;
  • contribute to continuous improvement of the development processes and the developed product.

Support Engineer Job Requirements


Education, Professional accomplishments, and Certifications

  • education level: Bachelor/Master in Computer Science;
  • at least 5 years of experience in a similar position;
  • excellent analysis and problem solving skills in the area of software and IT infrastructures;
  • extensive experience with Oracle databases;
  • experience with IT infrastructures and networking;
  • experience with Java software development;
  • knowledge of Active Directory and SAML is a plus;
  • knowledge of IT security and software security is a plus.
 
Skills, Requirements and Competencies
  • customer focused and able to communicate effectively with customers;
  • flexible and positive attitude;
  • quality-minded;
  • interest in Business Intelligence, Process Management, Internal Control, Risk Management;
  • fluent in English, verbal and in writing. Dutch is a plus

You have a passion for innovative ways of working, are flexible and able to adapt to a fast paced environment. You carry a positive attitude and you love to work in a team. You are proactive and able to communicate with all stakeholders. You have strong developed conceptual skills and you are quality-minded.
 
A valid working permit for the EU is mandatory.
