Senior Commissioning & Qualification Engineer Job Description
Overview / Responsibilities
Amec Foster Wheeler is looking for a Senior Commissioning & Qualification Engineer that reports to the Head of Validation department and is accountable to coordinate and manage all the C&Q activities from the validation approach definition and design review in home office till the site coordination.
- Prepare detailed Validation and Commissioning Master Plan, project procedures, prepare or review commissioning and qualification protocols (SAT/commissioning, IQ and OQ)
- Support the Design Review (DR) process and coordinate the functional risk assessment (FMEA)
- Review the technical documentation from the early design phase in order to include and align requirements of following C&Q activities
- Ensure that site project execution is undertaken in compliance with company and department procedures and safety standards are maintained
- Provide performance and other project data for incorporation into the group’s technical library
- Responsible for the continuous improvement of the C&Q activities in line with current guidelines and standards (ISPE and ASTM E2500)
- Organize day-to-day activities of Commissioning and Qualification Engineers assigned to site
- Act as day-to-day coordinator between the client and Amec Foster Wheeler Construction personnel on commissioning and qualification matters
- Assist with client (operations) training if required
- Direct or advise Client's staff with regard to correct pre-commissioning, Commissioning and Qualification activities
- Investigate technical problems with assistance from AmecFW specialist engineers and suppliers
- Prepare the final report and punch list required for the handover
- Responsible for the systems hand-over to the client
- Review performance progress
- Ensure commissioning and qualification related experience and knowledge gained on projects is captured and incorporated into future projects

Senior Commissioning & Qualification Engineer Job Requirements
Skills / Qualifications
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, plus a general background in Process Plant Commissioning and Qualification
- Previous experience at Lead Commissioning & Qualification Engineer or Manager level, either in an office or site environment
- Familiar with GxP, ISPE and ASTM E2500
- Bid evaluation experience
- Previous experience with large international projects
- Experience of training and mentoring junior staff members
- Strong leadership, decision making and influencing skills are required to ensure the delivery of challenging project and client targets
- Fluent in English and in Italian
