Senior Cost Engineer Job Description

• Being the main driver for enhancing Operating Profit and to improve the commercial results throughout the whole project
• Responsible for eliminating waste and creating value by reducing variation in the processes
• Using complex data analysis and convert them into valuable information for better decision making processes and for leading operating profit enhancement projects across all business cases
• Guaranteeing sustainable results throughout the whole project while supporting design & production process optimization
• Utilize Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) techniques, initiate cycle time & cost reductions and other activities aimed at reducing/eliminating non-value-added activities in the process
• Drive the identified best practices based on the agreed timelines
• Perform analytical assessment of cost drivers, realize technical improvement, optimize and validate processes throughout the design and production phase
• Applying and deploying Flex Lean Enterprise Principles across the entire project
• Identifying and assessing new technologies, continuous monitoring of the competition and industry trends
• Leading Design-to-Cost workshops and Small Group Activities on global scale

Senior Cost Engineer Job Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in the Electronic Manufacturing industry
• Knowledge of pricing and cost calculations in the Electronics Industry
• Solid knowledge of how purchasing & engineering interact in different project phases
• Good software knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
• Lean and/or Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt Certification (internal or external) preferred
• 8+ years of experience in a process improvement function
• Willingness to travel: appr. 50%
• English: Fluent, German: Advanced, Hungarian can be an advantage.
