Fastening Specialist Job Description
You act as the soundboard technical leader, for Fastening Technology. You will work together with the internal Inalfa partners (specifically with Manufacturing team), the international Manufacturing Engineers and equipment suppliers, to define and agree the best practices, which will generate the standard specifications for Fastening Technology to be implemented in the production lines.
You will report directly to our Group Director Manufacturing Engineering Standardization.
Your main tasks and responsibilities are:
- Responsible for global standardization of the Fastening Technology, specifically Screwing, Clinching and Riveting, among the manufacturing processes (e.g. framing of guide rails with front, rear or middle beams)
- Collect the best practice specifications for Fastening manufacturing processes between Inalfa locations
- Risk analyses of standardized equipment and production process (FMEA)
- Encourage “global thinking” within the regional Inalfa partners to define and agree on the global standards for Fastening, based on specific and agreed criteria’s
- Create the Fastening specifications for equipment and process, describing the requirements based on agreed standards, for Inalfa plants ME’s and equipment suppliers.
- Follow-up and support of the global use of the standards on different international Inalfa locations, together with global equipment suppliers.
- Track (functionally) regional Fastening projects, escalate where required, and insure lessons learned are shared across regions.

Fastening Specialist Job Requirements
What do we expect from you?
- You have a finished Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant;
- At least 5 years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering or other automotive related fields;
- Knowledge of Fastening state of art equipment and process systems (Screwing, Clinching and Riveting)
- Knowledge of assembly processes and Lean production systems
- Automotive experience is a strong plus.
- Strong team work skills, with an ability to motivate others, operating in a multi-function environment to collectively improve operations, resolve related issues and a flexible approach to achieve business goals;
- A flexible approach in order to achieve business goals;
- Excellent communication skills in English;
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve operational issues related to automation
- International travel to vendors and Inalfa production sites is required.
