The TTE programme is aimed at technicians who are looking to get a first, great professional experience to further their career, or before they embark on advanced study programmes.
We welcome applications from talented technicians who will have the opportunity to work in a diversity of fields at the cutting edge of technology: electronics, electricity, mechanics, IT, vacuum, cooling and ventilation, safety, radioprotection, survey engineering, are but a few of the examples of the many domains in which successful applicants will learn and contribute their knowledge.
Candidates will be considered by a panel of CERN experts for a position within the programme.
What We Offer
- Financial conditions: Your take-home pay will be 3500 Swiss francs/month
- Leave: You are entitled to 2.5 days paid leave per month

Technician Training Experience Job Requirements
You have a Technical Diploma in the field of mechanics, electro-mechanics, electricity, IT or electronics.
Eligibility conditions
- You are a national of a CERN Member State .
- You have a Technical Diploma in the field of mechanics, electricity, electronics, IT or safety.
- You have no more than 4 years relevant experience after finishing your diploma.
- Candidates who are currently preparing a diploma are eligible to apply. However, they are expected to have obtained their qualification by the time they take up their appointment at CERN.
- If you hold a higher level diploma (BSc, MSc..) you are not eligible, and therefore will not be considered. (however you may be eligible for the regular Fellowship, please check here )
- You should have at least a basic knowledge of English or French.
Documents required - A CV (in English or in French).
- A photocopy of the last (highest) qualification.
- Two reports on candidates to give as broad as possible overview of your academic and/or professional achievements.

Selection Procedure
The application and ALL supporting documents should reach CERN (or be submitted using the e-recruitment system) by the closing date.
The next selection committee will take place in November 2017.

- Two reports on candidates to be completed by two referees (a professor or a previous employee) to give as broad as possible overview of your academic and/or professional achievements. This report is a predefined form that your referee will be guided through in order to complete.
Please note: In the email of acknowledgment receipt, there will be a link to forward to your referees. This link will allow them to submit their recommendation in support of your application. Recommendations should be in English or French and submitted by the deadline indicated. Applications which are incomplete (e.g. missing reports on candidates) as of the closing date will not be considered.
All applications for TTE opportunities will be considered by a panel of CERN experts. The panel will meet once the deadline has passed. Successful applicants will be offered appointments which should begin within six months of the meeting.
